Wyoming Real Estate Listings | Wyoming Moving Services

Perhaps more than anything, the word “Wyoming” evokes images of the American West depicted in countless movies and novels. Aside from its storied past, Wyoming’s natural wonders are unbeatable. From the Red Desert to Yellowstone and from the Green river to the Black Hills, Wyoming is a land of natural beauty and wildlife.

Native Americans have lived in the state for more than 11,000 years but no Europeans set foot on the state soil until long after the exploration of other states. Wyoming never experienced a rapid population boom from any mineral discoveries and thus remains the least populous state in the US. Although no major wars other than Johnson County War of 1892 between cattle operators, Wyoming has its share of battlefields. There are many historic sites, including old military forts, western towns, and emigrant trails.

The Great Plains meet the Rocky mountains in Wyoming. The state is a great plateau broken by a number of mountain ranges. Because it is generally an arid state with land receiving less than ten inches of rainfall per year, there are few opportunities for farming, although ranching is very popular. In the northwestern corner of Wyoming lies the first national park of the US: Yellowstone is a volcanic area with about 3000 hot springs and geysers.

Wyoming weather is cool, dry and windy in comparison to the rest of the US. Summers are warm with hot days and cold nights. Winters are generally cold with periods of generally mild and extremely cold temperatures. Precipitation highly varies with elevation. While lower areas in the Big Horn Basin are true deserts, some moutain areas do receive a good amount of precipitation, with much of it being snow.

There are many historic sites throughout Wyoming that somehow make the past feel “not too far away”. There are a number of Western Towns that will make you feel like you are part of the good old days. Deer, antelope and even buffalo still roam the vast lands. Real cowboys walk the streets and people dress Western not to make a fashion statement, but because they want to! Wyoming adventure-filled days never fail to give locals and visitors a hearty apetite, usually followed by a hearty and juicy five-star Western meal.
